Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is not a trend: it is a way of life - a business plan. For us, it is intrinsically linked to the business’ overall success. We believe that being good at business also means doing good as a business.

We are always looking for new ways to make a positive impact on society. A key part of our business is ensuring that we support charities, invest in staff development and build sustainable and environmentally friendly buildings and operations.

Our charity work

Each year, we choose a charity that has a personal resonance with a member of the Office Space in Town (OSiT) team.  Last year we supported ‘Shelter for the storm’ who provide emergency shelter for the homeless across London.  We raised an amazing £12,141 together through numerous events including coffee mornings, sports days, treat counters and more.

This year, our chosen charity is the McClafferty Family, a family severely impacted by the devastating effects of stroke. All of the money we raise will go to support the many challenges of ‘life after stroke’.

Environmental responsibility

We build sustainable and environmentally friendly buildings. This ranges from recycling paper, printer cartridges and batteries throughout our sites to the smaller details like serving fair trade tea and coffee and introducing reusable carry cups.

Operating on family values

OSiT is a business with family values at its core. This applied when we founded our business and continues in how we work today. We want to encourage our staff to be the best they can be which is why we invest in their development through different initiatives such as our most recent Leadership Academy with Alembic Strategy. We believe that our family values resonate not only with the people who want to come and work for us but also with our staff which is why we have such excellent retention rates.

Corporate social responsibility doesn’t have to be a big, investment heavy initiative. Starting small and working up to bigger things that involve everyone tells your staff, your industry and the world that you care. Niki Fuchs, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Office Space in Town spoke to Tiger Recruitment about the centricity of CSR at OSiT, and some of the fantastic work we have been doing – you can read the full article here.
