In every office there’s at least one person with a desk that everyone looks at in fear and leaves it with a small desire to sneak back and tidy it, becoming the office equivalent to the shoemaker and the elves.
But, does a neat and tidy desk mean that there’s an organised person sat behind it? According to the design firm Herman Miller, it’s not always the case! The report found that those office workers who put a lot of energy into keeping an organised filing system are more likely to be creating an elaborate system that is not only hard to navigate but also holds a number of unnecessary documents.
